Hello,

My name is Seth and I am 33 (as of 2008) and am a single male who loves people. I have written to people from many countries around the world since I was about 16 and always enjoyed learning about other countries/cultures/customs/traditions. I grew up in a small farming town and for some odd reason teachers did not think it was that important to teach us about the world around us. US History seemed to always be the focus as well as what we had done to other countries. When I was 16 a neighbor mine told me that I knew nothing of other countries and that was pathetic. That statement made me curious to see what was outside the US. In this day everything seems to revolve around computers - even a penpal site. I work with computers all day (I am a QA analyst… essentially I try to break software). I would MUCH rather write snail mail to people around the world. Why? Well, it encourages much longer letters, you can send magazines, newspapers, trinkets, photos and so much more through the mail. Besides, who DOESN’T like getting a letter from a long distance friend instead of a bill. :) I have always written to women - mainly because I have found that they enjoy writing long letters. That does not mean that I won’t write to men, I just have not found them to write for very long.

I have many many hobbies - to include nature/wildlife photography, landscaping (gardening), hiking, mountain biking, reading (history right now), DIY (working on my home), listening to music of all sorts (classical, rock, jazz, country), wood working (I’m learning to build clocks at the moment and I also enjoy building wooden RC planes - medium size) and people. I worked as a computer lab assistant in college because I got to meet people from around the world and I LOVED it!

Do you have an interest in writing and making a new friend? I would love to hear from you. I have primarily travelled some through the US and made it up to Victoria BC, but I would love to see many countries of the world and it would be a joy to learn about a country from a native. :)
