Looking for a patient Japanese woman…
What should I write about myself? Hmmm…
“Heaven” by Ayumi Hamasaki is playing in the background as I write this. I had first heard the tune during the credits of the movie Shinobi: Heart Under Blade. I had absolutely fallen in love with the melody but unfortunately I had no idea what Ms. Hamasaki was tellin’ me. That reminds me…
While I’ve always been interested in Japan’s culture and customs, both past and present, I’ve just recently started learning Nihongo. Watashi wa Nihongo ga sukoshi wakarimasu. I’m havin’ a great time learning but for all the books I’m buyin’ I probably should’ve purchased stock in Borders bookstores.
Bookstores! Call me silly but I just love them. I can literally spend hours just lookin’ around at all the books, magazines, music and movies. From the Computer section to Culinary Interests. From Foreign Languages to Fantasy. All this and they have a coffee bar!
Now every man has his drink. James Bond has his martini, shaken, not stirred. Myself? A triple-shot, venti, breve latte’ with two packets of raw sugar. Mmmmmm… Surrounded by books and a never-ending supply of caffeine - God bless the person who thought up this idea!
Anyways, I would love to learn more of the Japanese language and day to day customs and culture from a Japanese women who has much patience for this baka gaijin.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Good wishes to you
